Mountain panorama

The rows of trees on the right and left of the fairways make this golf course feel like a park.

The fairways are wide and uncluttered – a fact valued by golfers who are not quite in top condition. However, the greens are well-protected by bunkers – recklessness will often land you in the sand or in one of the marshes. Klopein boasts the most beautiful panoramic mountain view of all the golf courses in Carinthia. The view to the Hochobir, Petzen and Steiner Alpen summits is best enjoyed from the terrace of hole 19. Klopeiner See-Turnersee is the first golf course in Carinthia that combines sports and arts – fourteen sculptures created by thirteen renowned artists are on display throughout the course.

PRO tip:

The course features gently undulating hills and terrain as well as wide, generous fairways with scattered pockets of woodland. The long par 5 (504 m, hole 11) favours long hitters. The greens are protected by many bunkers, so approach shots with a restricted stance must also be part of the player’s repertoire of strokes.
